Ready... Steady...

All set up and ready to go!  So much hard work and effort goes into doing these Christmas Sales, but I get such a buzz from seeing what sells and a great way or advertising among friends.  They always seem worth it in the end!

Christmas is coming...

Spent the day pricing and cataloging my stock for my impending Craft Sale! Each year I like to make up a DIY kit (aimed at the children).  This year is a Snowman.  The previous years have been a Christmas tree and Gingerbread man.  A great way to introduce kids to simple crafts.

Sparkle without the bang

Here is one I made earlier.  A card made for a commission.  I quite enjoyed doing this commission as my client knew exactly what she wanted and although you may be thinking it doesnt leave much room for creativity, sometimes its handy for a quicker card

Scrap Stash

In my attempt to clear my craft table I have ended up crafting! In a productive way of course... I have been using the scraps to create more cards as I go along, trying to use materials only on my cluttered craft table! It's amazing what results you can get from small scraps of papers! Loving my new Martha Stewart Button lunch I got for my Birthday few months back.

Preparation and Planning

The more organised I am the less stressed I'll be! I find that when making up cards, I lay them out and put them together in a kit ready to stick it all down later, this saves so much more on time.  It means I can chill in front of the telly and craft at the same time! I am busily preparing for my annual Christmas sale, you dear bloggers get the first sneaky peak of some of my card prep and cards!

Doing it my way

Sometimes with commissions I am dictacted to as to what colour the client would like, which is fine.  Other times it is nive to have the freedom for creative play, here was one of those occasions.  As I knew the couple I tried to make it using colours I thought they would like.  This is an A5 card using the Sizzix dove die, and Martha Stewart scallop punch

My Mummy

It's My Mum's birthday today.  We still call her Mummy despite being 'grown up'.  I loved the colours of these new Dovecraft papers, which I teamed with the Stampin Up! Canary set using the jar to fill with buttons.  I created a patchwork effect with the papers and finished it off with some ric rac. My Mum is multi skilled and talented and one of those things is sewing, hence the threads etc.

A change can make all the difference

After displaying this fabric mini handbag magnets in a local shop, it was time for a change.  They needed to be more... welll... sellable!  Sometimes by juts presenting a product in packaging can make all the difference.

Masking and Stamping

Don't you just love it when you find a technique that is quick and simple? Masking and stamping has been around for a while, but sometimes you can 'rediscover' techniques which may be different from what you normally do.  Masking and stamping has been made easier by using the post-it note.  You mask (cover up) an area and stamp on top and over the post-it note to create a space on your project.  I used the technique for a masculine thank you card and a girly pink birthday card.
