Papertake Weekly challenge is 'Simply Stripes' Now my stripes are hiding behind the ribbon... but I promise you they are there, just subtle! This card was made for a friend who wanted a 60th birthday card, she didnt really know the ladies taste and wanted spring colours, so I went fo muted greens and pinks, rather than the yellows and oranges. This card is a little different from what I normally would do and a lot of thought went into it (believe it or not!) and I couldn't get the photo to do it justice... So without further ado... here it is:

Reuse, Reduce, Recyle
Magnolia challenge for this week- to make a mothers Day card incorporating recycling! What a fab challenge. I wanted to find as much as I could to use on the card, but this proved to be a little difficult... So I ended up using 3 items The silver cardstock in the background is used from a takeaway lid (which I cleaned!!!), a ring pull from a can and ribbon from some packaging.

Making Sacrifices
This weeks Salt Challenge is the topic of 'Lent' a tricky one to say the least! I knew what text I wanted to use, but then it was a matter of portraying it... When I thought of the subject of lent, I thought about the Sacrifice's or dicipline that people make, and more importantly the sacrifice that God made for us in sending his Son Jesus to die on the cross for us. Ruth (my sister) gave me the suggestion of making 'Moo' cards, which are 2.8 x 7cm an unusual size to work with, but helps with stretching the imagination! The verse reads: GREATER LOVE HAS NOONE THAN THIS, THAT HE LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS, JOHN 15:13
I used stamps, eyelets, prima, tiny shells, skeleton leaves, brads and gold thread
