Congratulations- Coral!

This is a sneaky preview of the card I made for my inlaws 35th Wedding Anniversary (coral) coming up this Sunday. I nearly forgot! So managed to whip together this card, adding a touch of real coral!

A touch of Gold

This card started well, then I got stuck! Do you know what the writing says in the background?... I drew it on myself in gold pen, then the gold stamp didnt show up on the words so I went over it in more gold pen! Can you se the gold theme coming out? Thats because it is for DCM's mid week challenge to incorporate something 'golden' be it theme colour etc.

Forever Friends

I have been desperate to use this blue red and white paper from DCWV's Posie range! I also wanted to give chipboard another bash. So I used the outline chipboard for the letter F. This was inspired by the DCM challenge, "This week I dare you to use a Word as the main focal point to your card. It can be a name, a greeting or just a word that inspires you. You can use other text but only one word as a main embellishment. So dig out your dictionaries, die cutters, alphabet stamps, rubons or download a funky font and show us what you can do! The design team have come up with some fabulous creations to inpsire you." I just realised it was supposed to be the main embellishment! woops. Oh well And here is my 'Off-Cut Creation' (using left overs from the project above)

Perfect Promises

Salt Challenge this week: God's Promises, and there are soooo many to choose from! And what is great is God does and always will keep those promises! "So many times we are guilty of reaking promises, or have been on the other end of a broken promise, but what a wonderful blessing to know that when God makes a promise it's steadfast. We'd love to see what Promise from God you choose to use as your basis for your challenge"

Here is my card for the challenge.

Christmas Countdown

When you notice my blog has not been updated, it usually means I have been busy with other things, which has exactly been the case! Started designing some Christmas cards, took some other cards into a card shop to sell, have had the salt project to complete (goes live tomorrow!) and a wedding card commission (below), specifications were; to have the couples name, to keep it looking wedding -like, to use silver and to add a sunflower... after much playing around I did it!

Life Like

You will never guess what I made this rose from!... Unless of course you have seen something similar before. Before I go on I shall give credit where credit is due... this amazing lady makes them her website is mommy makes roses. She was demonstrating them on Martha Stewart, and my dear sister Ruth kindly shared this on her blog. I was so impressed I decided to have a go, so off I trotted to the shop today to buy some.... COFFEE FILTERS!

Cutting it Fine!

I am really into the technique of cutting out parts from patterned papers, on this particular card I almost wish i hadn't started! It was very touch and go in places! I based it on the Di Hickman sketch (using the flower as the circle bit).

(Using Anna Griffin paper, and a drangonfly stamp, HOTP word stamp)

Ah just looked at the DCM challenge, which nicely ties in with a couple of 'off-cut' cards I made yesterday; the one with the feather as the theme was to use something soft-touch

and here is the other off-cut card using the day before's papers

Not a day over....

Well the results of the Birthday Competition are in (sorry for the day delay). I had a laugh at your expense reading the different guesses you all wrote, ranging from a mere 21 up to a wapping 34!!! Well my actual age is.... (drum roll please)... 27, so well done to those who correctly answered. My son has pulled a name out the hat, but I dont know how to reach this person, so if anyone knows how I can contact Dasimonds please let me know asap, I will give it a week then if no reply choose another winner.

In the mean time this is my card for the DCM challenge, to use 3 die cuts on your card, I don't know if it is cheating but the name label was a double die!, and the third bwing the photo frame under the dragonfly (unused, thanks for the opporunity!)

And used off cuts to make an anniversary card for my Best Friend, cant beleive it was a year ago!!!

The animals went into 2 by 2

This week it was my turn to set the challenge for the SALT blog, so I chose what I thought would be the loose theme of 'water'. Please take a look at the lovely contributions created by the rest of the design team, and join in!

I made a hanging ATC, anything bigger, and I wouldn't have coped with cutting out the animals! This is obviously based on the story of Noah's Ark, and a lovely reminder of God's promises to His people.

I used cut out vellum, punch for the 'dove', Whispers (christmas) stamps for the wording, and recylcled some magazine off cuts for the rainbow and water. And googled an imgage of the ark.

Hopefully you can see the 3d effect in this picture?
