Hmm simple does not come easy for me! But sometime the papers say it all and there is no need to add too much. So here are today's efforts of trying to be simple, the first being an Easter card for the DCM mid-week challenge. Used some new papers, by...Dovecraft me thinks? and some new primas too!

All Grown Up!

Well back form my lovely break away and getting stuck back into my blog, this is a card for a double challenge, Magnolia's Hidden secrets, to incorporate a secret compartment on your creation, and DCM's teenager theme. My friend who I used to baby sit for is well I have lost track how old she is now! But sure she is in her teens (scary!). I havent used this odd colour combination before... was inspired by the handbag and shoe paper!

Teddy Bear's Picnic
Teddy Bear's Picnic was the theme of my Son's 3rd Birthday Party this year, so been busy with that no time to make cards or blog! Here is the final result of the cake I made from Fimo and Sculpy Mould Clay. Away next week so will try and catch up when I return...

3 Is the magic Number!
I seem to be immersed in the number 3 and teddy bears! I have had 3 commissions recently, (wont show you them all now as I dont have time)... and my son will be 3 on saturday and preparing bits and bobs for a Teddy bears picnic! Managed to burn my cake topper! Made it from Fimo (modelling clay that you heat in the oven and harden) so have to make some more :(

Faith Sisters
This weeks SALT challenge 'This week it is my (Ruth's) turn to set the challenge. To be honest it crept up on me and so when I was thinking about it I think I had in the back of my mind Mother's day here in the UK which is this coming Sunday. So, with a slight twist I came up with
Inspiring Christian Women......they could be women from the Bible, from Christian History or from your life.I kept with the mother's day theme, and have made an altered tin using the verses from Proverbs about a Woman of Noble character..'
WE ARE CURRENTLY RUNNNING A RAK SO PLEASE VISIT SALT AND LEAVE A COMMENT TO BE IN FOR A CHANCE OF WINNING!

You go and save the best till last...
I have been saving these delicious K & Co papers, mainly for stroking purposes! But decided to tuck in and make a Mother's Day card using the DCM challenge of recyling- can you spot what I have recycled? My mum likes pumpkion seeds, and this was on the side of some packaging for some fancy bread!

Altered Art?
BEFORE
AFTER
Don't tell my MIL, but this went in the bin- but as you can see I took it out again, because I decided I could use it! Then swiftly covered up the logo with a sticker to make it look pretty and decorated with my new primas and some girly bling! Oh if you are wandering what it is... it is a mobile phone holder, now sitting pretty on my craft table

Juicy Lucy
Trying to incorporate 3 challenges this time! 2 of which were Daring Card Makers; 1 to make a card on the topic of love and friendship, and then the midweek challenge, of using juicy citrus clours like orange and yellow. Then I used the Di hickman sketch for the layout.

Silly String
This weeks challenge on the Magnolia site was to incorporate string! My imwediate thought was to put Edwin on a swing, sounds easy enough doesn't it- the reality well much harder and more fiddly then imagined! As I made all the bits up my self. Cut the tree from some bark scrapbook paper, coloured in the background using watercolour pencils then over the top in tapestry and swirly stamps.

Baby Love
I love it when I can combione challenges- kinda makes life easier that way. So here is the Caardvark challenge od 'Baby love' (which I have just noticed I am a bit behind with!) mixed with Di Hickmans sketch, great way of using up scraps by the way!
