New Year New Creations

Well Christmas has come and gone and the new year has begun! Nearly a year since my blog began! Well I start this year with another Salt challnge 'Please take Inspiration from the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 6 Verse 21, For where your Treasure is,there your Heart will also be.' And what a challnge it proved to be when my printer tran out of ink, so I Quickutzed the letters! I used a p[lain wooden trasure chest box, stamped it in Gold swirls, and using some wall paper with bees and navy bliue background, it cut them out using my QK revolution (the swirls that is...) Added a few prima's and there you have it!

Love Beyond All Measure

Although I set this weeks SALT challenge, I found it difficult to turn my ideas into reality, but as you can see... Ifinally got there. The challenge 'The verse John 3:16 'For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only son, that whoever believed in him shall not live but have everlasting life' It is perhaps a well known verse, but it is a real testimony to our Christian faith, the fact that the babe Jesus was born as a SAVIOUR for our sins. So that if YOU believe that he came to die, and ask for forgiveness YOU ALSO will recieve the GIFT of eternal life in heaven.'

After searching the internet for inspiration I found this verse in the shape of a cross (taken from a tract by Max Lucado), and thought it would be a good way of presenting it. I wanted to make something different, rather than using this as a hanging, or on a card, so thanks to Ruth who suggested to put it on a notebook! Perfect! I vamped up this handmade book given to me as a gift. Hence the before and after shots.

Time for Teddy

Just managed to find a little time to make my Mother in-law's birthday card... She likes teddy bears, so I took this image from a brown paper bag, and added a clock face- for some bizarre reason? Used the Qk snowflake for the clock hands, and added prima's and other stamps to complete. Very busy at the mo, sorry for lack of blogging...

The Greatest Gift Of All

It is all to easy to get caught up in the Christmas rush without really thinking about what or who we are celebrating. It is not just about the birth of Jesus but more importantly why he came, to save sinners, anyone who will call on Him to confess their sins and accept that Christ died for them, what an amazing GIFT and privalege! This quick card is made for this weeks SALT challenge; Jesus, the true meaning of Christmas
We all love celebrating Christmas because it is a time for us to stop, remember and praise God for the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. HE IS the true meaning of Christmas. Not presents, not parties, not decorations, etc. JUST JESUS!!!

The front is made using ribbon and a tag which reads 'Thanks be to God for his indiscribable gift' 2 Corinthians 9:15, and gold edging, the inside is a collection of QK parcels, spelling out the name Jesus, thanks for taking the time to look, please see what the other talented ladies have done on the salt site.

Love Birds

Finally trying to get back to making things from my craft table... it has been a busy time with card sales and a workshop (not complaining!). But managed to fit in the DCM challenge (to incorporate birds), good timing actually as my DH is going to a wedding tomorrow for a old work collegue, wanted to make an alternative fun wedding card, not sure if it suits the couple but thought I would give it a bash!

Gone to the Girl Guides!

Well managed to survive my first card workshop to the girl guides, despite going to the wrong place to start with! (how embaressing!) Anyway I turned up in a bit of a hurry, and got stuck in with my demonstrations. There were 22 in total including the girl guides and there mums ore relatives. Here are a few pictures, and the names of the people, Jessica, Lisa, teri, Bethany, Lauren, Izzy B, Sarah, Fiona, Jane, Kathryn, Laura, Beth, Sophie, Lowrie, Izzy R, Chloe S, Hannah, Polly, Cathy, Hamish, Liz and Hattie.

This little LIGHTof mine

The card Party went well, which has kept me busy, then off sick for a while, but now I am back and with this week's SALT challenge is set by Ruth 'The theme for this week is LIGHT It is mentioned so many times in the Bible, and has many facets of meaning and symbolism. I am the LIGHT of the World... The people walking in darkness have seen a great LIGHT ...The LIGHT shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it...In the same way, let your LIGHT shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Please create a piece of work using it as inspiration and leave us a message so we can see and link to our work. '

My immediate thought was to create a silouhette picture and then to illuminate it with candles, I cut most of the picture by hand, but the birds are done with a punch, then I wrote the verse on using permanent pen. It reads 12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12
