Purposeful Patchwork

My Patchwork heart was inspired by this weeks SALT challenge, the topic being FORGIVENESS. The idea behind it was that despite our sin God sent his Son Jesus to cover our sin and almost patch us up; through dieing on the cross and making a way for us to be forgiven. The date is significant, because it is when Christ invited me to be part of his kingdom. "God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform" Some people cant pin point the day or the time, but for me it was this date that I came to the realisation, that I needed to accept that Christ died to save me from my sins, I was scared at not feeling 'guilty' but was told that if I accept that I am a sinner, and realise that I need a Saviour, to ask for forgiveness, then I will be saved. What a wonderful moment that was pouring my heart out kneeling in prayer and knowing that I could finally say I was a Christian! I Prasie the Lord for the wonderful work that He has done in my life, all of Him and nothing of me.

To make the card, I gathered some similar coloured scraps, mounted it on card and cut out the heart shape, used a stitching stamp for the edging and inked. Prima Hydrangeas with stick on pearls, wooden button from stash with raffia, then string form a clothes label to hang.

Brown is the new Black

... Well browns seems to be apprearing in a lot of my cardmaking recently... put this home card together out of bits and pieces, and then went on to use some scrap paper to make this ultra simple card...which as usual I was majorly tempted to add to,but managed to resist! Was also kickingmyself for not taking a photograph of a card I spent ages making for a friend and already put in the post!

Anyway to my card... stamped on the white paper and coloured over with watercolour pencils, the piece of paper has been sitting on my desk fora while, and I wanted to use it, so made up this thankyou card. Oh also got some vintage buttons from ebay, getting into my buttons recently!!

Not Stressed But Distressed

Happy with my mojo at the mo, so not stressed. Thanks to the DCM theme I am distressed! Rushed to make my card in order to try and be the first to leave a comment, but I just missed it! nevermind.... here is my card for Ruth (my sisters') birthday, sorry if you get to see it on my blog first Ruth! But at least you will enjoy seeing it in real life! I ran along the edges of the paper and card with a blade to create a torn effect (thanks for the tip Mr Holtz!) Used a clothes tag for the piece of material. OOh and not a stamp in sight?! cor must be a first...

Licking Lollies

I love this photo, infact I kept snapping away as the expressions on their faces were great! I was glad to use this picture for this week's SALT challenge of 'Contentment' And boy what a life lesson to learn! To be content with what we have! Not to be greedy... And the opposite is true also, not to be content with the bad things that are going on, like Hazel's project

I pain stackingly decided to doodle around all the circles, but didnt look right without it! DO vivit SALT and be inspired by the great work.

A-Spare-Chilli For You! Espeically- get it!

(photo not great will try and re-do tomorrow in sunlight!)
Googled some great imags to use on my card for the DCM challenge of Hot and Spicy, and been desperatly trying to think of a caption to go with it, I thought on the lines of hot, hot stuff, or travelling to a hot country, I thought of a play with the word chilli, like just chillin, then just as I was going to give up and use the words 'espcially for you'- I came up with this! A spare-chilli- for you. I originally had a cinamon stick in the centre of the frame, but didnt think it would fit in with my new found phrase!

Buttons & Bows

After having a few days of using up some scrap stash, I decided it was about time I broke free and dipped in some Basic Grey! (I donl;'t owe a lot of it) So it is precious to me! Using the theme set by the Magnolia Blog; of Ribbon I incorporated it into Tilda's hair for her bow and along the side in brown ribbon. I have just noticed that over at CMUtd they have a challenge for ribbons and buttons- cor fancy that! Wander if I can qualify for entry...

I wanted to use up some of my scraps and challenged myself to use the same tie and birthday stamp... These are simple cards, but I enjoyed doodlingHere I used more scraps but worked on outlining the pattern, added this pearlescent dragonfly
