Life Like

You will never guess what I made this rose from!... Unless of course you have seen something similar before. Before I go on I shall give credit where credit is due... this amazing lady makes them her website is mommy makes roses. She was demonstrating them on Martha Stewart, and my dear sister Ruth kindly shared this on her blog. I was so impressed I decided to have a go, so off I trotted to the shop today to buy some.... COFFEE FILTERS!

Cutting it Fine!

I am really into the technique of cutting out parts from patterned papers, on this particular card I almost wish i hadn't started! It was very touch and go in places! I based it on the Di Hickman sketch (using the flower as the circle bit).

(Using Anna Griffin paper, and a drangonfly stamp, HOTP word stamp)

Ah just looked at the DCM challenge, which nicely ties in with a couple of 'off-cut' cards I made yesterday; the one with the feather as the theme was to use something soft-touch

and here is the other off-cut card using the day before's papers

Not a day over....

Well the results of the Birthday Competition are in (sorry for the day delay). I had a laugh at your expense reading the different guesses you all wrote, ranging from a mere 21 up to a wapping 34!!! Well my actual age is.... (drum roll please)... 27, so well done to those who correctly answered. My son has pulled a name out the hat, but I dont know how to reach this person, so if anyone knows how I can contact Dasimonds please let me know asap, I will give it a week then if no reply choose another winner.

In the mean time this is my card for the DCM challenge, to use 3 die cuts on your card, I don't know if it is cheating but the name label was a double die!, and the third bwing the photo frame under the dragonfly (unused, thanks for the opporunity!)

And used off cuts to make an anniversary card for my Best Friend, cant beleive it was a year ago!!!

The animals went into 2 by 2

This week it was my turn to set the challenge for the SALT blog, so I chose what I thought would be the loose theme of 'water'. Please take a look at the lovely contributions created by the rest of the design team, and join in!

I made a hanging ATC, anything bigger, and I wouldn't have coped with cutting out the animals! This is obviously based on the story of Noah's Ark, and a lovely reminder of God's promises to His people.

I used cut out vellum, punch for the 'dove', Whispers (christmas) stamps for the wording, and recylcled some magazine off cuts for the rainbow and water. And googled an imgage of the ark.

Hopefully you can see the 3d effect in this picture?

"Glitter, Glitter, Everywhere, on the Card and in My Hair!"

Completed my card for the very interesting DCM topic this week for the mid week challenge "This time the challenge is to pick one letter and see how many things you can use on your card that begin with that letter.
Now then, you can't choose "P" and just have pink paper, pink brads, pink ink, pink ribbon - oh no no no, that's not the way it works!
You could however, use A pink card blank, paper, petals, plasma, a monogram P, something Purple, a Flower Pot..."

So I used the letter G, now bear with me as I have to remeber them all...
Green (flowers, paper), Glitter, Grace, and of course Glue!

BIRTHDAY COMPETITION, Celebrate Good Times- Come on!

Well it be my Birthday today!... I am thinking of running another competition.... Will gather together some bits for a prize later, but in the mean time, if you can guess my age, then you will be put in to PRIZE DRAW, Winner to be announced in a weeks time!

SUNDAY EVENING: I have just loaded this card I finished off using the CPS sketch. The main Gebera is from a photo I took, and I inked the primas to try and match the colours, and used some fabby text stamps from part of my b'day pressie!

A Touch of Frost

Sir Frosty (as I like to call him with his top hat!), was taken from Chris' blog, who is running a comp at the mo, go take a look! And I used the inspiration from the great team at Daring Card Makers to incorporate buttons (which have neatly doubled up as snowballs!) to come up with this number...

Dedicated to the one I love

...Cath Kitson! Why didn't i think of that first... that something as simple as polka dots could sell well! Anyway here is my card just in time for the DCM extra challenge 'dots and dashes!' what a fun idea! Going to make a pink one as well, as you can see my blue ink pad got contaminated! 3 days till my birthday whoo hoo!

Cheap Frills

Here is my take on this week's DCM dare 'You must make a card with a frill - it could be some lace, frilly ribbon, a hand cut or decorative scissor edge or a folded paper frill - or what ever you choose to make.... you decide!' Cheap frills inplying I only used a pair of deckled scissors and used a hole punch to create my frilly look.
